My wife's ipad had an issue where it only worked offline - never worked if connected to internet. I tried all the suggestions, changing the layout to make refrigerator more accessible, hard closing it, powering off ipad etc.
The fix that worked for me - browse the file system, backup your save game (com.capcom.zombiecafe.plist or something to that effect).. uninstall the game. Reinstall it, put your save back.. voila.. problems gone

That happened to me too once. I was at around level 17 and saving up toxins (I had around 25 toxin vials) And well the game crashed when I tapped the 'Play' button in zombie cafe. Theres no way to get it back by turning wifi off and so and so. The only way is to delete your data and start all over again. The crash maybe caused by you doing the 'Time Cheat' within the game and if you change the time too rapidly the game can't follow on and gets crashed. They should really fix this bug in their next update and maybe add more levels too. I'm getting bored of it lol.

O…I also face this such problem once click on the play button and crash back to IOS, I have tried to set my phone as aeroplane mode, swithch off 3G and wifi but still not work. Luckily,I wait my iphone out of battery and get back to game and seems work again

got the same issue, solved by free up device memory.
notice: free up memory does not mean to restart device, it means kill all other sessions in background.

I had the Same problem as you,but got it fixed by following OPs steps up till 6.
after that I double tapped The home button and and switches to "setting" to turn back on wifi!
Then double tapped home to switch back to ZombieCafe again. I then got THE order that was sent to me before. Only then it got stuck in that menu. But after pressing ok I then turner ZC off and back on and everything was back. Hope it works for you as well!

When I'm offline the game just works fine when I go online, then game keeps crashing when I hit play. I tried to toggle off notifications, not to log in facebook, uncheck all my friends, nthg seems to work….please hellpppppp

Thanks for this info Zechombie! I tried both your options, but still crashes >< my situation is actually a little different, I don't need to deliver food, but my brother told me he sent me an order, and since then I haven't been able to access my cafe unless it's offline! so basically I have to fill the order for it to be fixed, but I can't even receive the order bc of the crash problem *sigh*

to quit/close zombie cafe, DOUBLE click the home buttton, which is tat round circle button thing located at the bottom of the iphone. Then move left/right and find the zombie cafe app. Then click and hold the zombie cafe app until red thing comes out. click on tat red thing to quit/close zombie cafe. You will not lose any data.

Fix for Zombie Cafe "Play Button Crash"

I ran into the "Play Button Crash".
When I press the Play button, I saw my cafe for 1 sec, then it bounced back to iOS.
(I am using iPod touch)

After a series of trial, I successfully recover from it.

Here are the steps I have taken.

1. Check whether your problem is same as mine: Try logout facebook before pressing "Play Button". If the game still crash, sorry, I cant help you.

2. If you are able to play without logged in facebook, its good news. Go to the map, press "Invite Friends" and login facebook as requested.

3. After you have logged in, and posted the invitation, *NEVER* get back to your own cafe yet. Go to your friends cafe, and deliver your food.

4. After that, press the home button (Yes, the physical home button on your iPod / iPhone)

5. Switch off Wifi / 3G (Just make sure you are not connected).

6. Get back to Zombie Cafe, Get back to your own cafe. Here you go~

### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ###

7. If it still crash, dont worry. There are still a few things you can do. "Kill" Zombie Cafe. (I mean Kill the process, not uninstall, not delete data)

8. Enable Wifi / 3G (Just make sure you are connected). Login facebook in "Option". Uncheck all your "Green" friends.

9. "Quit" Zombie Cafe (Dont Kill it), and disable Wifi / 3G. "Start" Zombie Cafe and Click "Play"

10. Go to "Map", you should be able to see your friends cafe, yet you cant enter them. "Quit" Zombie Cafe, and enable Wifi / 3G.

11. "Start" Zombie Cafe again. You can go back to your own cafe. A lot of food order will pop up (even if you got only a few friends). Press "OK"

12. The problem should be gone.

After your cafe REVIVED, "Kill" Zombie Cafe and start the apps again. Though not necessary, it just makes me a bit more comfortable.
